The beginning of 2022 didn’t start well.A severe coid-19 breakout struck Shanghai down rapidly just after Russia invaded Ukraine.
The first lockdown in Shanghai happened on March 2nd,some area was told not go out,but the takeout still could be delivered.This situation continues for about two weeks,I ordered takeout for entirely 2 weeks because I don’t have any kitchenware.Everyday I was in my room looking at the stuation of war in Ukraine and feeling bad for both people in there and here.Finally the restriction was canceled,we rushed out for shopping immediately.There even was a very long line in the little supermarket nearby which barely has some customers in normal days.Everyone was afraid of another lockdown and just bought a lot of things for preparation.I also bought some food just in case.
Just after two days,a new lockdown was ordered by gov.We had to stay at home for another 2 weeks.After about a one-month lockdown,I even started to like it because I can work from home except a little of boring.Every meal was solved by takeout.In other perspectives,the city was not been fully lockdown as there were numerous deliver guy working for the takeaways so I could have my dinner everyday.
But things changed since the third lockdown in April 1st.All the deliverer were also banned from going out.So the only things I can rely on were those food I bought in the gap of two lockdown and which was honestly not much for a 4 days full lockdown.There was nothing I could do,nor anybody could do but staying at home and waiting for the end of lockdown.
No takeout was an awful news for me.So all food I had was checked and listed at first,2 packs of instant noodle,3 breads,a carton of milk prepared for latte and some other snacks,not much but should be enough for 4 days.
Today is the last day of lockdown,my food stored left little.Today I ate some cupcakes and 2 boxes of milk,nothing else and was hoping for shopping tomorrow to relieve my strait.But this evening I was told the lockdown will be last for another 2 weeks.That is a very bad news for me,there are only some snacks left and no possibility I can live by this for even 3 days.
I am desperate and frustrating now.My only hope is there could be takeout tomorrow.Can’t believe this could happened in Shanghai,a megacity with 25 million people living in.
